The Wiz

August 1-3, 7-10, 8 pm

Matinee: August 9, 11 am

Book by William F. Brown

Music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls

Adapted from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

“Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore.”  This soulful adaptation of The Wizard of Oz keeps the storyline fresh; leading Dorothy, Toto and the whole crew to the hip city of Oz. As they “Ease On Down The Road” we’ll raise the roof off the Amphitheater with this rock, pop, and soul influenced musical. Featuring a cast of remarkably talented high school students from all over our region who work together onstage, backstage and in the orchestra; this show will be “No Bad News”. With sly beats and irrepressible cool, such tunes as “He’s The Wiz” and “I’m A Mean Ole Lion” give The Wiz some serious street cred.
