In July of 2007, three local non-profit theatre companies combined into one in order to share and improve resources, create dynamic synergies, and reach new audiences. The result is the LOUISVILLE THEATRICAL ASSOCIATION – now, the most extensive performing arts organization in Louisville, KY. Projected to serve over 400,000 patrons in its first year, LTA will offer unprecedented year-round performance and educational programming to audiences comprised of the very young to the young at heart.
LTA Internships Offer the Following:
- The possibility to arrange course credit with the intern’s academic institution
- All Interns experience the excitement of participating in or attending professional theater productions.
- Professional work experience and training in a goal-oriented team environment
- An Intern's performance is monitored to evaluate progress; feedback and career guidance are extended
- An internship is a positive way to find out if a job in theater or arts administration is the career you are seeking
SPRING 2009 Theatre Administration Internships
LTA Theatre Administration Internships offer college students, or recent graduates, real-world experience in a variety of theatre management areas, including marketing, development, patron services, general admin and theatre education. Students will develop working relationships with three theatre companies: Stage One: The Louisville Children’s Theatre, Music Theatre Louisville, and the PNC Broadway Across America Education Program. Total number of hours and length of internship to be determined.

SPRING 2009 STAGE ONE: The Louisville Children’s Theatre – Stage Management Internships
The Stage One Stage Management Intern is a full-fledged and vital member of the professional stage management team working closely with the Production Stage Manager (PSM) throughout the rehearsal process on a Stage One production. The PSM will devote time to mentoring the intern in areas of special interest and / or skill.
Application and Interview Required.
Sample Duties include:
Pre-production: rehearsal hall prep, taping the rehearsal floor, paperwork
Rehearsal Process: tracking props, mock scene shifts / prop resets; taking line notes
Technical Rehearsals: taking blocking changes and line notes
Performances: optional opportunity to sit with PSM in booth and / or observe backstage running of the show during performances
